El Mirage: The Gateway to the Northwest Valley

Since its incorporation in 1951, El Mirage, AZ has transcended its rural, agricultural beginnings to emerge as a diverse suburban community that is today home to over 32,000 residents. Located northwest of Phoenix between Sun City and Surprise, near Luke US Air Force Base, El Mirage is a fast-growing town filled with new opportunities, charming homes and neighborhoods, and an outstanding quality of life. Its affordable housing, small-town feel, and proximity to Phoenix have made it a popular choice for young professionals seeking their first homes, families looking to grow and expand, retirees in search of community cohesion and a less-hurried place, and entrepreneurs seeking expansion into new markets.

Its logo symbolizes the Agua Fria River, as well as the rich soil and distant mountains that drew so many here in the first days of its origins. Its words are simple, alluding to the “Grand Heritage” rooted in humble migrant beginnings, and the promise of a “Bright Future” that is the foundation on which El Mirage continues to distinguish itself as a livable, affordable city for all ages.
